Paolo Contis addresses lack of child support for daughters: 'It's a mistake'

Paolo Contis admitted that he does not provide child support for his daughters Xonia, Xylene, and Summer.

On Friday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Paolo said he had his reasons for not doing so, but he does not want to make an issue out of it.

He said, however, that he has been saving for his children and hopes to give the amount straight to them someday.

"It's a mistake na nasimulan ko ever since before na hindi ako nakapagbigay," Paolo acknowledged.

"But ever since na nagtrabaho ako ng maayos, unti-unti akong naglalagay ng account para kay Xonia, kay Xylene, pati kay Summer."

Meanwhile, Paolo expressed his gratitude to his ex-wife Lian and her fiancé John Cabahug for raising Xonia and Xylene well.

"I would like to take this opportunity to tell Lian and John, thank you for doing a great job sa mga bata," he said, getting emotional. "Dun suwerte ako kasi mabait 'yung John eh."

In the same interview, Paolo said he is afraid that his children will hate him but he hopes that they can be friends one day.

He wishes to make it up to Xonia and Xylene, whom he has not seen for six years. He also said he misses Summer so much due to their abrupt parting.

"I tried to reach out but as I always say, forgiveness takes time, healing takes time and I'm giving that to LJ," he said.

Part 2 of Paolo's interview will air on Monday.
