Iza Calzado asks for guidance from late mom as she inches closer to becoming a parent
Iza Calzado took to Instagram to ask for guidance from her late mom as she inches closer to becoming a parent.
Sharing some of their photos from when she was young, Iza on Monday penned a letter and expressed how these keep her mom alive in her heart.
Now pregnant with her first baby, Iza said having a child has both been hers and her mom's dream. As such, she would love to still have her mom's guidance and support.
"This won't be an easy ride but I know it will be an incredibly fulfilling one. Pretty soon, I will have my own child. A little Mary Ann, a little Iza. Your dreams and mine coming together for this blessing," Iza said.
"Malayo pa ang lalakbayin ko at alam ko kasama kita dahil ang nanay, pumanaw man sa mundo, hindi kailan man iiwan ang kanyang anak. Ikaw ang nagpatunay nito."
("My journey is still long and I know you are with me because a mother, even after dying in this world, will never leave her child. You proved this.")
According to Iza, it has been 21 years since her mom passed away. Nevertheless, she knows her mom still made sure that she turned out well with her "guiding light."
Iza, 40, announced her pregnancy in August. She tied the knot with Ben Wintle in 2018.
