Aubrey Miles proud of daughter Rocket's progress in therapy

Aubrey Miles and Troy Montero are proud parents after their daughter Rocket made significant progress in her therapy.

The couple revealed earlier this year that Rocket has Autism Spectrum Disorder.

In Cata Tibayan's report on "24 Oras Weekend," Saturday, Aubrey shared updates on Rocket's development.

"Ngayon, she looks in our eyes, we look at each other na. Before kasi hindi siya tumitingin di ba? And 'yung speech, ngayon medyo nag-wa-one word one word na siya," she said.

"Hindi siya 'yung totally pipi, hindi ganun. Kasi 'yung iba kasi they don't want to just talk eh. Siya nag-wa-one word na. Progress sa amin 'yun," she added.

Aubrey and Troy said handling Rocket's condition was not easy for them at first, but they stayed strong to support their daughter.

"It's really acceptance eh. 'Pag na-accept mo 'yung mga bagay na hindi mo naman alam na ready ka. Kahit anong ready mo sa buhay hindi mo ine-expect 'yung mga ganito," Aubrey said.

She encouraged other parents of children with autism to be open with everything and let go of expectations.

"Everything tanggapin lang natin, 'wag na tayo mag-compare ng mga anak natin," she said.

Aubrey previously said that Rocket taught her and Troy a "different kind of love."

"'Yung relationship namin ni Troy, parang, 'may ibibigay pa pala tayo.' Akala mo ito na 'yung best love. Hindi pa pala, so ang dami lang namin natutunan."
