Carla Abellana on divorce from Tom Rodriguez: 'Madami pong dahilan'

Carla Abellana has finally shed some light on what happened with her divorce from Tom Rodriguez.

Speaking about the topic for the first time in an interview on the 'Updated with Nelson Canlas' podcast, the Kapuso actress said she couldn't name the specific reason behind it because "hindi po siya isang bagay lang.”

“I cannot answer that question kasi madami, madami pong dahilan. Hindi po mababaw, hindi po ganun kadali, hindi po iisang bagay lang talagang maraming reasons as to why [we got divorced]," she said. “Madami naman talaga."

Carla added that Tom has not reached out to her. The last time she saw him was in February. They have the same manager, and Carla found out from them that Tom flew to the United States in March.

“Since then, no. Wala talaga ever since,” she said. “Walang [phone] calls, no text messages, nothing.”

She also said that they had not reached out to their respective families.

“So it's been what — more than six months na walang ganung communication. Dahil hindi na rin naging maganda 'yung mga nangyari, seryoso na talaga and ibang usapan na,” Carla said.

Carla said that at some point, lawyers were already involved and reached a moment “na 'yung lawyers nalang ang nag-uusap.”

“So definitely, no communication since February, mga ganiyan,” she said. “So ang tagal na no anything. No phone calls from both ends — walang nag-re-reach out, walang tumatawag, walang nag-me-message — nothing.”

Tom revealed last June that he and Carla are already divorced.

They got married in October 2021. Rumors of their split started in January when Tom unfollowed Carla on Instagram.
