Jeric Gonzales opens up on reason behind breakup with Rabiya Mateo

Jeric Gonzales has opened up on the reason behind his breakup with Rabiya Mateo.

According to a report on PEP.ph, the "Start-UP PH" star said there was no third party in their relationship.

"Ang pinaghiwalayan namin, siguro misunderstanding lang. Siguro 'yung priorities naming pareho sa work, sa career, sa life," said Jeric.

("We broke up probably due to just a misunderstanding. Perhaps our priorities in work, career, and life.)

"Naghiwalay kami nang maayos and hindi kami bitter sa isa't isa. Kaya pag nagkikita kami, hindi kami nag-iiwasan, hindi awkward," he added.

("We separated amicably and we're not bitter towards each other. So when we see each other, we don't avoid each other, it's not awkward between us.")

Jeric reunited with his ex-girlfriend when he and Yasmien Kurdi guested on Rabiya Mateo's "TiktoClock" to promote "Start-Up PH."

The Kapuso actor said he and Rabiya exchanged a beso. He added that they were really good friends despite their breakup.

Asked if there's a chance that they can be back together, Jeric answered yes.

"May possibility pa rin na in the future, puwede pa [there's a possibility that in the future, it can happen]," he said.

Jeric and Rabiya confirmed their relationship in March. They exchanged sweet posts on Instagram and even went on Visita Iglesia together during the Holy Week.

They unfollowed each other on Instagram in June and Rabiya also deleted their photos together.

Rabiya and Jeric starred together in an episode of "Wish Ko Lang" in November last year.
