Dennis Trillo reveals why he and Jennylyn Mercado named their daughter Dylan
It's no secret that Dylan is a pretty unique name for a girl. How did Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado decide on this for their first child together?
In an episode of "Updated with Nelson Canlas," the "Maria Clara at Ibarra" actor said they really did intend for it to be special.
("Jen is amazed in boy names that are used for girls. So we thought about one that has letters from my name, letters from her name.")
"Naisip namin, 'oh, ito na lang. Parang bagay din 'to. Parang match din kay Bob Dylan.' Mahilig kami sa music niya. 'Yon, naging Dylan," he added.
("We thought, 'we can use this one. This is good. It also matches Bob Dylan.' We like his music. And so it became Dylan.")
Since welcoming Dylan in April, Dennis said he's been very hands-on. In fact, he still fulfills his daddy duties after coming home from taping.
("When I get home from work, after I clean up, I will do my job as a daddy. I'll change her diaper then she'll be hungry so I will make her a bottle of milk and feed her.")
"After no'n, kailangan ko siyang patulugin ulit.
("After that I have to get her to sleep again. I'm lucky if she falls asleep right away because I can finally rest. Then at 6 a.m. I'll wake up and have her take medicine.")
In a previous interview, Dennis said it's been very fulfilling even though they lack sleep.
Dennis and Jennylyn tied the knot in November last year.
