Maine Mendoza did not realize Arjo Atayde proposed to her on the date she tweeted 'Arjo cutie'

The day Arjo Atayde proposed to Maine Mendoza is an important date for the couple—July 28, the day Maine tweeted "Arjo cutie" nine years ago.

But it turns out that Maine did not realize its significance right away, as revealed in the engagement video she posted on Instagram on Sunday.

Arjo talked about it as the couple sat down for an interview after the proposal and Maine learned about it then.

"She tweeted Arjo cutie today," Arjo said. Maine interjected, "Ah today?"

"Yeah, July 28, 2013," Arjo replied.

"See, mas alam mo pa," Maine said, chuckling.

Arjo, who has been planning the proposal for a year, had more to say about the auspicious date.

"This is the day I met her also, July 28, 2018. And now I proposed July 28, 2022."

Needless to say, Arjo pulled all the stops when he popped the question. Maine arrived to the venue with many photos of the couple hanging as decorations, and fireworks exploded when Maine gave her "yes."

Maine said Arjo treats her like a princess and she is still on cloud nine over their engagement.

"The way he loves and cares for me parang sobra and sometimes I really ask the Lord what have I done to deserve this kind of love," she said.

"I've always prayed to find a man who's gonna love me for who I am, then you came."
