Chito Miranda’s father passes away: ‘Bye, Dad! Love you!’

Chito Miranda’s father, Alfonso P. Miranda, passed away on Aug. 9 at 77 years old, he announced on Instagram.

On Friday, Chito shared a photo of his father’s framed picture and an urn.

“Bye, Dad!!! Love you!!!” wrote the Parokya ni Edgar frontman.

Chito asked for understanding why their family kept the information private.

“To all our family and friends, we decided to keep everything simple and intimate. Immediate family lang talaga. Hope you guys understand,” he said.

He also requested prayers for his dad. “Prayers lang, oks na,” he added.

The post’s comments section was filled with condolences from fans and fellow artists like Gary Valenciano, Sitti Navarro, Nicole Asensio, Candy Pangilinan, Jugs Jugueta, Eunice Jorge, Tatsi Jamnague, Jomal Linao, and Joross Gamboa.
