Jennifer Lopez on marriage to Ben Affleck: ‘Love is patient. Twenty years patient’

If you don’t believe that true love is patient, then let newly married couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck prove you otherwise.

A love story 20 years in the making, JLo confirmed through her newsletter on Sunday that she recently married Ben in Las Vegas.

“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” the “Marry Me” actress wrote on her On The JLo newsletter.

According to JLo, the wedding was exactly what they wanted. They flew to Vegas and stood in line for a license along with other couples whom the actress described as people who were “making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.”

After they got their license, the couple arrived at Little White Wedding chapel when the clock struck midnight.

“So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,” she narrated.

JLo said “it was the best possible wedding” they could have imagined.

“When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another,” she said.

In the latter part of her newsletter, the actress shared the quote, “all you need is love.”

“We are so grateful to have that [love] in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to,” she added.

“Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for.”

Jennifer and Ben first dated in 2002, then called off their engagement in 2004. In 2021, Bennifer reunited. – RC, GMA News
