Bea Alonzo reveals how Dominic Roque supported her as she healed from a bad breakup

The process of healing is not always pretty. A lot of the time, it involves anger, frustration, and insecurity.

Bea Alonzo is no exception to this, most especially after going through a painful public breakup.

In the second part of her guesting on GMA News and Public Affairs’ showbiz podcast “Updated with Nelson Canlas,” Bea talked more about the process of her recovery from the bad relationship and how her boyfriend Dominic Roque supported her through it.

“Before siya nagka-label, before siya na talagang naging kami [ni Dominic]—because I was so hesitant to be in a relationship again—parang he was just there for me throughout my recovery and my healing,” Bea said.

The two started out as friends before they were in a relationship. “Iba rin kasi talaga 'pag kaibigan mo eh kasi he understands eh. Kaibigan ko kasi siya, maganda ang foundation. So walang best foot forward,” the “Start-Up PH” star added.

Then when they first started dating, Bea would experience moments of frustration that she would project onto Dominic.

“We would drink tapos kapag malalasing ako, like I would think na siya 'yong taong 'yon and sa kanya ko ipo-pour lahat ng mga galit ko or sama ng loob ko. Tapos the next day I would forget about it. So para siyang naging punching bag,” Bea admitted.

“Tapos sinasabi ko sa kanya, ‘this is so unfair for you, you shouldn't be experiencing this.’ But yeah, parang sinasabi niya, ‘andito lang ako, I will be there for you as long as you need me.’”

Dom’s patience and confidence would definitely be some of the reasons why they have a healthy and happy relationship.

“Nasa parang same page kami pareho that we always wanna make it work,” Bea said. – Nika Roque/RC, GMA News
