Krista Ranillo and Niño Lim tie the knot in California church wedding

LOS ANGELES — Actress Krista Ranillo and entrepreneur Niño Jefferson Lim got married at the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Santa Clarita, California on Saturday 12 years after they tied the knot in a small, private Jewish-interfaith ceremony in 2010.

The simple ceremony was attended by families and friends of the couple with a reception held at the Bridgeport Clubhouse nearby.

Ranillo, the daughter of actors Matt Ranillo III and Linda Tupaz, was radiant and blooming in a lovely white off-the-shoulder embellished gown with a long train and her flowing black tresses partly pulled back with a pearl-embedded hairclip that held her lacy white veil. Lim, meanwhile, was handsome in his Barong Tagalog.

The couple, who managed to stay out of the limelight after their Jewish-interfaith wedding ceremony 12 years ago, was very relaxed and playful during the rites as Ranillo teasingly pouted, smiled, or pointed at Lim as she reacted to the priest reading the couple's separate reasons why they chose to marry each other. They also lovingly reached out to each other and held hands during the matrimonial rites.

The 39-year-old actress, who said goodbye to show business, serenaded her businessman husband and founder of the Island Pacific Market, a supermarket chain in several states. She sang "Can't Help Falling In Love."

The couple now has five children, some of whom participated in their church wedding as they carried the rings, the coins, and the Bible.

While Lim walked to the altar with his beautiful mother, Ranillo walked with her dashing father, who was dressed in a light pink suit.

At the reception, the guests were treated before the reception with several food stations like a sari-sari store that had favorite Filipino snacks from garlic peanuts to ChocNut, a paella station that served chicken or seafood paella, a Sorbetes cart that served ube or mango-flavored ice cream complete with a sweet ice cream cone, a drink cart that served favorite drinks or the special Ube Buko Elixir Over Ice, a crepe station, a California sushi roll station, as well as a photo station or booth for that souvenir shot.

Fashion designer David Tupaz, who is the uncle of the bride, mentioned that the Ranillo family is like the von Trapps family in "The Sound of Music" because "all of them sing." And indeed, Matt sang, serenaded the Lim couple, did a duet with his wife Linda, a duet with talented belter Sharon Tanyag, Krista and Nino's eldest son Nate bravely rendered Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and another song, and so the fun night continued.

A lovely host for the night was actress-turned-chef Donita Rose, who was also doing cool moves on the dance floor.

Tupaz summed up why Krista and Nino are perfect for each other when he said, "They are perfect for each other because their imperfections are not a hindrance in making their relationship perfect! It is in failures that we achieve success. It is through struggles that we recharge our strength. When our relationships go through all these experiences, we value each other more. Two hearts beat as one."

Other guests included actresses Suzette Ranillo, the bride's aunt, actress Giselle Töngi Walters, and Olivia Quido-Co, skin care specialist for the Miss Universe pageant.

The bride and groom did their final dance while smoke from dry ice floated. It was a perfect dreamy ending to a memorable night.
