Bea Alonzo reveals she unconsciously said her 'One More Chance' lines to first BF Mico Palanca

As an actress, Bea Alonzo often draws from her own experiences to bring out the emotions necessary when playing her roles.

But this process reversed for her one time—life imitated art—while doing the 2007 film "One More Chance."

In an episode of "Update With Nelson Canlas," Bea said it happened after she did the scene where her character, Basha, was fetched by boyfriend Popoy (played by John Lloyd Cruz) when her car broke down.

In the scene, Popoy insisted on carrying Basha's luggage but she was not having it and the two had a fight.

"I don't even know kung tama 'tong ginagawa ko pero ang alam ko kailangan ko nang tapusin 'to," she said.

Bea said when she saw her then real-life boyfriend, the late Mico Palanca, the next day, she unconsciously told him the same thing.

"I wasn't really happy in the relationship, shaky ganiyan, tapos parang I actually, without even realizing it, I somehow uttered my line to him," she said.

"I swear to God, hindi as in not exactly the same, but somehow pero merong similarities na parang gumano'n pa siya sa akin, parang, 'Are you kidding me right now?' Parang, 'Dahil ba 'to sa pelikula mo?' Parang gano'n," she continued.

Bea then said it's what she was really feeling at that time.

"Siguro kaya naging effective 'yong scene na 'yon because that was the thing, it was actually the feeling," she said.

Bea said in all of her roles, there's always a little of something of her in them.

"Most of my characters may parte ng pagkatao ko na kung kailangan kong i-magnify 'yon for that character I magnify it. But it's still Bea," she said.

"Just the same 'yong mga characters na mga ginagampanan ko laging merong naiiwan sila na parte nila na napupunta sa akin," she added. "There's always a Basha in me and there's always a Bobbie in me."

Bobbie is Bea's role in the 2013 film "Four Sisters And A Wedding."

"For it to be organic you have to come from a place that is organic, so ibig sabihin it has to be a part of who I am," Bea said.

"Kahit na sabihin na mga fantasies ginagawa ng mga actors I am pretty sure it's coming from a human place, which is themselves."
