For her 48th birthday, Ruffa Gutierrez took to Instagram to share a throwback photo with her kids Lorin and Venice from a 2007 photoshoot to look back on "so much [that] has happened."

"Countless [ups and] downs, heartaches [and] breakthroughs, failures [and] triumphs."

On her special day, the actress and beauty queen "cannot be more thankful to be alive, happy, and healthy."

She said, "Life itself is a beautiful gift. It may sound cliché but let's manifest that the best is yet to come."
