Leni Robredo’s daughter gets into Harvard for masters in medicine

Vice President Leni Robredo's second daughter Tricia has been accepted to the masters of medical science program at the Harvard University, the vice president said on Friday night.

On Facebook, Robredo said Tricia, a licensed medical doctor, had delayed her getting into a residency program at least twice.

The first was when she was asked to help in the Vice President's COVID-19 operations. The second was when she had to help in Robredo's presidential campaign.

“After passing the Medical Boards, Tricia had to postpone getting into a Residency Program twice. The first one was when I asked her to help us out with our Covid Response Operations. When our Covid situation got a little better, she planned on starting her Residency in January 2022,” Robredo said.

“When I suddenly decided to run in October 2021, she felt I would need her in the campaign and decided to forgo it the second time,” she said.

Robredo said Tricia also immersed herself in several health projects where she gained a “deeper understanding” of how health care is delivered in communities.

“That was when she learned that this was what she wanted to pursue,” Robredo said.

“She applied at the Harvard Medical School Master of Medical Sciences in Global Health Delivery, suntok sa buwan And she got accepted!!” she added.

The younger Robredo passed the Physician Licensure Examination in November 2020.

She previously served as a volunteer doctor under the “Bayanihan E-Konsulta” program — a free teleconsultation service launched by the Office of the Vice-President amid the COVID-19 pandemic.—NB, GMA News
