Richard Gomez opens up about not having another baby

As one of the power couples in the local showbiz scene, Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres have always been the talk of the town, and one of the topics surrounding them is why they never had another child after their only girl, 21-year-old Juliana.

On Thursday’s episode of GMA News and Public Affairs’ showbiz podcast “Updated with Nelson Canlas,” the actor and congressman answered the broadcast journalist’s question as to why they never had another baby.

“We tried. We tried so many times. Siguro we’re not fortunate lang to have another one,” Richard expressed.

“Parang siguro sinabi ng Diyos na, ‘tama na ’yan isa na muna, isa na lang, pagtiyagaan niyo na si Juliana.’”

When asked in interviews and press events, Richard and Lucy would emphasize that having another child would happen if God willed it, and that they were more than happy and contented with their small family.

“Masaya naman kami kung kaming tatlo lang, ano lang kami tawa lang kami nang tawa. We talk about so many things in life, we talk about ano ba ’yong gusto naming gawin, ano ba ’yong future plans natin,” he explained.

“You know, it’s a small happy family. Kaya nga si Lucy pag magkakasama kaming tatlo, sasabihin niya, ‘look at us, our small family.’ Tatlo lang kami, isang lamesa lang kami.” – Nika Roque/RC, GMA News
