Kylie Padilla opens up about breakdown of marriage with Aljur Abrenica: 'Alam ko nang doon papunta'
The news of Kylie Padilla and Aljur Abrenica's separation might have felt like whiplash, but it's different for those involved.
In an interview on "Updated with Nelson Canlas," Kylie opened up about the topic while she was talking about her anxiety, which she has been suffering from since she was young, and got worse after she gave birth to her two sons.
Asked if her anxiety flared up when she separated with Aljur, Kylie said it was actually worse before that.
"You know what, mas worse siya when I knew na papunta na kami doon, papunta na kami doon. Malabo na and nag-iiba na lahat kasi gano'n naman talaga, it just doesn't happen like that e," she said.
"Ramdam mo na there was a distance forming between us... parang alam ko ng doon pupunta," she added.
Kylie said she felt "really alone" in their marriage to the point where she just thought she should just be alone.
"Ang sakit na e. Syempre though as a mom ayaw mo namang mangyari, it's not something that you wish will happen," she said.
"Ayaw mo ng mag isa talaga, but sometimes maybe you need to do that to find your inner strength and magkaroon kami ng respeto outside of being a married couple. Ang hirap kasi ng kasal kayo and it's only on paper na and you're only forced to meet there, you don't want to be together parang gano'n," she added.
Kylie and Aljur were revealed to have split by Kylie's father, Robin Padilla. They tied the knot in 2018 and have two children together, Axl and Alas.
After their public row last year, Kylie said they are friends now.
“I want him to be happy kasi unang una siya ’yong tatay …” she said. “We’ve lived a life together and I never wanna see him as sad as he was when we’re married.”
Kylie headlines the GMA series "Bolera." She plays the role of Jonie, a street-smart billiards prodigy who aims to prove herself in the male-dominated sport. —JCB, GMA News
