Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn Mercado are enjoying Baby D's arrival despite sleepless nights

Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado are in a state of bliss with the arrival of their first child together.

In a statement shown on Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Monday, the couple shared details about the baby and Jennylyn's condition after giving birth.

"Everything went smoothly inside the operating room and both Jennylyn and Baby D are doing very well now," the statement read.

"Despite having sleepless nights these past days, Jen and I are very much enjoying our time as parents and we are very thankful that we are blessed with a healthy baby girl."

Jennylyn and Dennis welcomed Baby D, who weighed 5.7 pounds, last April 25 around 5 p.m. In a vlog released Sunday, the couple said they were just supposed to get a check up at the hospital.

They announced they were engaged and expecting their first child in October last year. Weeks later, they announced they tied the knot, then revealed they were having a baby girl.
