Kelley Day revealed Tom Rodriguez reached out to her after she issued a statement denying involvement in his alleged split from wife Carla Abellana.

On Boobay and Pepita Curtis’ recent “Kalurks!” YouTube video, the former beauty queen said she asked around to know why her name was brought up on the issue, when she knew she didn’t do anything wrong.

It was through this that sources close to the couple told Kelley, she really shouldn’t have been part of it, which Tom assured her a week after she released her statement.

“Sabi ko, ‘Sige, ‘yon na ‘yon. That’s my truth naman and I don’t know any more, any less about the true story, so I waited na lang for like a week,” Kelley said.

“Tom messaged me and he clarified with me that [it had] nothing to do with me. That was one of the sources that I had that made me sure that I’m not involved,” she added.

Reiterating what she has been pointing out since the issue broke out, Kelley said she still has no idea why showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin brought her name up as a third party to their relationship through blind item videos.

“We just worked sa ‘The World Between Us,’ which we taped in 2021 from May to October. Tom is super mabait and everything but I wasn’t really that close with him,” she said.

Despite this, Kelley said she understands where netizens’ hate is coming from since Cristy Fermin’s blind item video really did look like it was meant to describe her.

“I cannot actually blame the people for blaming me kasi the way that Cristy Fermin was doing her blind item, pati ako, I would say that was definitely about me,” she said.

Also being accused that she got pregnant with Tom’s baby, Kelley once again said that she did not go to the United Kingdom and go for a social media detox to have an ultrasound or give birth.

“Nagulat din ako na buntis pala ako,” she said. “There’s maybe an assumption that I was pregnant kasi that’s a thing that happens sometimes when artists gets pregnant, they go abroad to have their child.”

Again, Kelley said she went to the UK for her grandmother’s funeral and to be with her family.

Kelley’s name was brought up after Tom seemingly unfollowed Carla on Instagram. She then immediately denied her involvement through Instagram stories, saying that “these accusations about me are false.”

Though the couple have followed each other again on social media, netizens noticed that Tom was still absent in Carla’s recent vlog, as well as her wedding ring. She also didn’t react to his “I love you.”

Tom and Carla tied the knot last October. As of writing, they still haven’t issued statements on the issue. — LA, GMA News
