Chito Miranda on how having a family changed his life: ‘I suddenly had something bigger than myself’

Chito Miranda has opened up about how his life changed after he had a family.

Sharing a photo of them on Instagram, the Parokya ni Edgar frontman said his family gave him "a deeper purpose in life."

"Before, it was just me, and my band, and that was it. And that 'purpose' grew old fast once I had everything I wanted," Chito wrote.

"Parang wala na akong goal sa mundo kasi nakuha ko na lahat ng gusto ko sa buhay," he added.

[It felt like I didn't have any goals anymore because I already had what I wanted.]

"Having a family shifted my priorities. I suddenly had something bigger, and more important than myself."

According to Chito, everything became clear and simple because all he had to do was focus on doing what was best for his family.

"Their well-being and happiness became my primary concern above everything else. And 'yun yung naging kaligayahan ko sa buhay," the vocalist said.

[And that became my joy in life.]

Although Chito said having a family wasn't the only way to have a purpose in life, it gave him a sense of something bigger and more important than himself.

"Finding your own happiness will always be the most important thing in life, and for me, I found that (with my family)," Chito said. "Go find yours."

The photo Chito posted was the same one shared by his wife, entrepreneur and actress Neri Naig, as they celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary last month.

Chito and Neri welcomed their first child Miggy in 2016 and their second child Cash last October.

Meanwhile, according to a PEP report last month, the couple are in the process of adopting their niece Pia– Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
