Iya Villania shares family’s COVID-19 journey
Iya Villania has shared her family’s COVID-19 journey in the hopes that their experience will help others who are going through the same.
According to Nelson Canlas’ “24 Oras” report Friday, Iya and her husband Drew Arellano first tested positive with the disease last week. They immediately isolated themselves so they would not infect their children Primo, Leon, and Alana.
“The major challenge noong umpisa, noong kami pa lang ni Drew ’yung positive, was the reality na hindi ko mayayakap ’yung mga anak ko. ’Yung mga kailangan ni Alana, kailangan ko na lang iutos ko na lang,” Iya told Nelson.
The Chika Minute host said her baby girl was crying and looking at her wondering why her mother couldn’t be with her.
“Kita nila kami pero hindi namin, we couldn’t like hug each other, kiss each other, eh we’re such an affectionate family,” she said.
In the next few days, however, their children began developing symptoms one by one.
As of today, all three children are recovering well. Iya, who is pregnant, is also thankful that she has only mild symptoms.
“You kinda just have to choose your battles. It’s not a time for you to be strict with the kids. They’re dealing with it on their own. Let them not think about it. Let them play, let them do whatever makes them happy,” she said.
Since members of their household tested positive, Iya had been sharing their experiences on social media.
“I guess I just wanted to show them that OK so this is how we’re dealing with it,” she said. – RC, GMA News
