Carmina Villarroel reveals how she knew Zoren Legaspi was 'the one'

Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi are undoubtedly couple goals, but how did their relationship start?

During the "Stories From the Heart: The End Of Us" press conference on Wednesday, the celebrity couple revealed that they didn't really have a "ligawan" or courting stage in their relationship.

"Hindi talaga ako nanliligaw. Hindi ako naniniwala sa courting stage. I think that's a very fake stage. You should be friends (I don't court. I don't believe in the courting stage. I think that's a very fake stage. You should be friends)," Zoren said.

But while they didn't have a courting stage, Carmina said that she did seek out three signs.

"Humingi ako ng tatlong signs. Hiningi ko talaga na 'pag sumakay ako sa car niya, sabi ko sana kantahan niya ako ng 'You Look Wonderful Tonight.' Alam naman nating lahat di siya kumakanta," she said.

[I asked for three signs. I really asked that when I would ride in his car, I wished that he would sing me 'You Look Wonderful Tonight.' We all know he doesn't sing.]

Lo and behold, the moment she entered Zoren's red pickup truck, it was the exact song playing on the radio.

"Hindi ko alam kung sinadya niya 'yun or tumugma lang," she added. "Those signs hindi ko hinihingi 'yun on one night, the signs if he's really the one."

[I don't know if it was intentional or it was just a coincidence. I didn't ask for those signs to come out in one night, the signs to tell if he's really the one.]

Aside from the song, Carmina also said that another sign she asked for was if Zoren carried her bag for her. On a night out, Carmina clearly remembered Zoren simply picking up her bag without a second thought.

Another thing Zoren did that made Carmina's heart flutter was when he went to Japan and asked her what she wanted. During that time, Carmina said that there was no Shu Uemura in the country so she asked Zoren to buy her makeup and nail polish from Shu Uemura in Japan.

"Di ko naman inexpect na bibilhan niya ako but when they got home from Japan binilhan niya ako ng eyeshodow, nail polish. I was so amazed. Not all guys would do that," Carmina said.

[I didn't expect him to buy me anything but when they got home from Japan, he bought me eyeshadow, nail polish. I was so amazed. Not all guys would do that.]

Zoren explained his side of the event and revealed that when Carmina mentioned Shu Eumura back then, he had absolutely no clue what she was talking about.

"I like her so tatanungin ko ano gusto niya sa Japan (I like her so I asked what she wanted in Japan)," he said, but when she mentioned the store, Zoren was dumbfounded. He then consulted his other male friends what it was, asking, "Pare saan itong Shooey, Shooey daw (Pare, what's this Shooey, it's called Shooey)?"

They were able to buy from the store and bring back the items Carmina had asked for.

"If you really like a girl, bibigay mo mga bagay na gusto niya (If you really like a girl, you'll give the things she likes)," Zoren added.

Carmina and Zoren are set to star in Stories From the Heart: The End of Us, their very first drama together where they both play the lead roles.

The series revolves around a married couple who gets torn apart after the husband cheats. However, they find themselves reigniting the relationship during the process of annulment.

It is set to premiere on December 20. —JCB, GMA News
