Jennylyn Mercado shares challenges of taping 'Love. Die. Repeat' after learning of her pregnancy
Jennylyn Mercado shared more details about her new motherhood journey in her latest vlog on YouTube.
In the third episode of "After All," a vlog series about her pregnancy and recent engagement with long-time boyfriend Dennis Trillo, the couple told the story of what happened after their surrogacy journey in the United States.
Dennis just came back from the Venice Film Festival while Jennylyn entered the lock-in taping of "Love, Die, Repeat" when she felt the symptoms and confirmed it through a pregnancy test kit.
"Naisip ko magiging dalawa na 'yung anak namin?" Dennis said. "Hindi ko alam kung ano 'yung sasabihin ko dahil meron pa kaming surrogate na naghihintay at meron kaming isang perfect embryo na i-implant doon sa surrogate na 'yun."
The pregnancy came as a surprise to both of them, as Jennylyn said she has a heart condition and her body has a difficult time producing eggs, so she was not sure if her she can handle a pregnancy.
After learning about her condition, Jennylyn and Dennis decided to keep it to themselves at first.
Jen, however, faced challenges while taping as her morning sickness began to kick in. She eventually decided to tell the executives of the show.
"Gumaan na 'yung pakiramdam ko, finally meron akong nasabihan at kahit papaano maaalalayan nila ako sa set. At least medyo safe na 'yung pakiramdam ko," she said.
Jen was allowed her to briefly leave the lock-in taping to get a checkup. She and Dennis met at the hospital and first saw their baby's heartbeat.
The "Love, Die, Repeat" cast and production team were then told of her pregnancy so they can understand her condition and assist her on set.
"Nung back to work na, akala ko OK na OK na ko. Magte-take na lang kami magpapaalam pa ako kay Direk dahil... kailangan kong pumunta ng CR," she said, gesturing that she had to throw up.
The vlog then teased the content of the next episode, when the couple decided that Jen needed to stop working and go home so she will have someone to care for her amid her pregnancy.
"Sa bigat ng mga eksena ko, napaka-emotional tapos 'yung physical requirements na kailangan nung mga eksena, hindi ko ine-expect na magbe-bleed ako," Jen said.
As of writing, the video already has over 1.3 million views on YouTube and fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for the next episode.
