Michelle Madrigal reveals why marriage with Troy Woolfolk didn’t work: ‘We’re not really compatible at all’

Michelle Madrigal opened up about her separation from former husband Troy Woolkfolk, pointing at compatibility as one of the reasons why their marriage didn't work.

In a vlog post on Thursday, the actress clarified that their separation was amicable and there was no third party involved.

"We were both unhappy," Michelle said. "I think the reason why this marriage did not work was because we're not really compatible at all."

Michelle said they were so in love with each other that within six months of dating they had a baby and she decided to move to a different country.

"I was in love. And that's the chemistry. Whenever you're together, there's the energy, the fire. You may or may not like the same things, but you kind of ignore that when you have that chemistry because you're so focused on that energy," she said.

"They give you butterflies that you're so attracted to this person and sometimes you ignore red flags. You kinda ignore your core values," she added.

"I think most marriages or relationships in general don't last because they're not very compatible with the person they choose to be with."

In the past, Michelle said she never fully understood why people would just date and see who was there for them. With Troy, she said that they dated, fell in love, and had a baby.

"The compatibility, the core values, these are the things you need to look for if you're going to marry someone or even if you're gonna date someone long-term," she said.

Sharing lessons from her previous relationships, Michelle advised her viewers to know their non-negotiables and core values, saying she ignored hers in the past because "she was so in love."

"The most important part is being compatible with someone ... but if your relationship is just fueled with chemistry, then it's not gonna last. Those are some of the things that I have learned through my past relationships, specifically, my marriage,” she said.

Despite the divorce, Michelle said there were no regrets.

"I was blessed with my amazing daughter. We are blessed with Anika, and it changed our lives."

In August, Michelle shared that she and husband Troy had separated.
