LJ Reyes on forgiving Paolo Contis: 'I'm working on it'
A little over a month after she broke her silence on her separation from Paolo Contis, LJ Reyes said she is already in the state of moving on.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas on "24 Oras," LJ said she is working on finding it in her heart to gain peace from the pain she went through.
"Forgiveness is a work in progress. Hindi madaling ibigay ang forgiveness. I mean lahat naman tayo we get hurt, angry, but you work on it every day to forgive people, yourself, or whoever. You pray about it," she said.
"Hindi kasi siya madaling bagay na ibigay so surrender lang talaga kay God and I'm working on it."
LJ said she has no long-term plans yet for her family, but she is grateful that her children are adjusting well in the United States.
She also has her family, faith, and the Filipino community to serve as her support system.
"Wala pang dumating dito na Pinoy na nagtanong sa 'kin or mentioned anything about my personal life," she said. "Ang sinasabi nila, 'We're so happy na nakita ka namin. We want to let you know that we support you.'"
"I've always been vocal about it that if it weren't because of God, 'yung binibigay sa 'king strength ni God, it wouldn't have been possible. 'Di ko rin inakala na nandito na kami," she added.
Aside from being a mom to Summer and Aki, LJ also spends her time training at their family restaurant located in Brooklyn, New York.
Her kids, meanwhile, are also doing well. In fact, Aki is already attending face to face classes.
Earlier Tuesday, LJ shared a photo of her and Summer posing adorably in gorgeous fits. Previously, she also surprised everyone when she showed up in the New York Fashion Week in an all-black outfit.
LJ revealed in September that her split with Paolo was not mutual and that he refused to take her and their kids back.
Shortly after, Paolo apologized to LJ and admitted that a third party was involved in the breakup.
