Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos reveal secret to long-term relationship: ‘We started out as best friends’

Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos revealed that their friendship was the secret to their long-term relationship.

In an episode of their podcast “Figure It Out With Gabbi and Khalil,” the couple shared that on their first date in 2017, there was “no pressure” at all and they just naturally exchanged stories with each other.

“I think that’s the most important part: start off as friends,” Gabbi said.

“That also explains why we’re very chill as a couple. We’re not as romantiko, as gigil talaga. We’re just very chill kasi from the very start we’re just chill,” she said.

“People ask us, ‘How come you guys are so tagal na?’ Walang lumalabas na issues, walang lumalabas na blind item,’” she added.

[“How come you guys have been together for so long?” There are no issues, no blind items.]

“I think it’s because we started off as best friends and until now we are best friends.”

The couple said their first date was only the second time they saw each other in person after they first met in 2015.

Khalil said that because they were already close when they started dating, they didn’t have an “I want to win you” type of relationship, but more of “let’s get to know each other and see where it leads.”

On Feb. 22, the couple celebrated their fourth anniversary together.

In a previous podcast episode, they revealed that their anniversary was Feb. 22 because it was the day Gabbi texted Khalil two years after they met and when they started rekindling their relationship. – RC, GMA News
