LJ Reyes reveals Paolo Contis refused to take her, kids back

LJ Reyes revealed that when she tried to save their relationship, Paolo Contis refused.

In an interview with Boy Abunda released on Wednesday, the Kapuso actress said she’d been trying to fix things with Paolo “the past several months.”

“Umabot sa point na nag-break kami pero after a few days, na-realize ko na hindi pwedeng ganito (kasi) may mga bata,” she said.

“Nagbaba po ako ng pride kahit alam kong ako yung nasasaktan. Titiisin ko po para sa mga bata. Iniisip ko baka kailangan nila ng complete family,” she added.

[We broke up. But after a few days, I realized we had to try and work it out because of the kids. I lowered my pride even if I was already hurting. I said, I'll do it for the kids. They need a complete family.]

But Paolo was keen on carrying on without them.

“Tinanong ko siya if he wants to take us back pero hindi na raw,” LJ said tearfully.

[I asked him if he wants to take us back, but he said no.]

According to LJ, that incident was their last conversation. She already cut communication with him.

Rumors of the couple’s separation started in August, when the public noticed that the actor had deleted all of LJ’s photos on his Instagram account and unfollowed everyone including her. According to LJ, the breakup was a months-long unraveling that had her endure "revelation after revelation." She added it was not a mutual split. 

“Ako po yung nagsabi na parang nasa ibang mundo na po siya at parang pakiramdam ko, inaantay lang niya na manggaling sa ’kin,” she added. “Ramdam na ramdam ko po na ibang-iba na.”

LJ is currently in New York City with her kids Aki and Summer as well as her family.

As of writing, Paolo is also no longer part of LJ’s following list on her Instagram account.

LJ and Paolo had been together for six years.

They have a two-year-old child named Summer. — LA, GMA News
