LJ Reyes reveals split with Paolo Contis is not mutual

LJ Reyes has revealed that her split with partner Paolo Contis is not mutual.

In an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda released on Wednesday, the actress said she was the one who confronted Paolo. 

“Hindi siya mutual kasi naniniwala po ako na ‘pag mutual ang desisyon, pareho kayong [agree] na hindi na nag-work yung relationship,” she said.

“Ako po yung nagsabi na parang nasa ibang mundo na po siya at parang pakiramdam ko, inaantay lang niya na manggaling sa’kin,” she added. “Ramdam na ramdam ko po na ibang-iba na.”

LJ added that Paolo has been going out quite a lot since late last year, which isn’t normal.

“Madalas po siyang wala sa bahay,” she said. “He’s a homebody. Kung pwedeng ‘di umalis ng bahay, ‘di naman siya aalis ng bahay.”

The change in Paolo's behavior, LJ said, started sometime late last year with the actress saying she would initiate conversation and ask, "are we OK?" The actor, LJ said, would just shy away and "dismiss the conversation."

Having to go through with the separation, LJ said it was “so difficult and so painful.”

“Kung hindi malakas pananampalataya ko sa Panginoon, ‘di ko alam saan ako pupulutin,” she said.

“Kung ‘di matibay pagmamahal ko sa mga anak ko para maging motivation siya sa’kin to stand up and wake up every day, di ko alam sa’n ako pupulutin,” she added.

LJ is currently in New York City with her kids Aki and Summer, and her family.

Rumors on the couple’s separation started when the public noticed that the actor has deleted all of LJ’s photos on his Instagram account, and even unfollowed everyone.

As of this writing, Paolo is also no longer part of LJ’s following list on her Instagram account.

LJ and Paolo had been together for six years. They have a two-year-old child named Summer. — LA, GMA News
