Mahal reunited with Mura on KMJS in final TV appearance

Mahal reunited with Mura and extended help to him weeks before she passed away.

On the Aug. 22, 2021, episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” it was reported that Mahal went to Guinobatan, Albay, on Aug. 8 to visit her longtime screen partner.

This was after a video of Mura went viral and he was revealed to be facing struggles.

“Kung may opportunity naman po pumasok (sa showbiz) sana ulit, papasok ako ulit kahit medyo mahirap. Kakayanin ko po para sa pamilya ko,” Mura said on the vlogger Virgelyn’s video.

Mura left showbiz in 2010 after he was injured in a tricycle accident. He went back to Albay to help his father in the farm, but he still found it hard to move.

“Malungkot kasi gusto kong pumasok ulit (sa showbiz). Hindi ko lang kaya kasi mahina yung paa ko. Gustong-gusto ko pumasok sa showbiz kasi gusto ko pang makatulong sa pamilya,” Mura said.

Learning about Mura’s situation, Mahal said she wanted to pursue her plans of reuniting with him.

“Naawa ako kay Mura. Hindi ko akalain na two years na kaming hindi nagkita. Hindi mo ma-contact dahil mahina ang signal,” she said.

Together with her friend Mygz Molino, Mahal traveled for days and even walked for over an hour just to reach Mura’s house, where they had a meal together.

Apart from visiting, Mahal also gave Mura some groceries and PHP5,000. Mygz, meanwhile, also gave some money so Mura could buy a pig, which he could use to earn extra income.

Mahal also assured Mura that she would continue to help him while she’s alive.

“Hanggang sa tumanda ako, uugod-ugod, syempre pupunta pa rin ako rito. ’Pag may racket, aalok kita, okay? Kapag halimbawa nawala ako sa mundo, mayroon akong konting naitulong sa ’yo,” she said.

After reuniting with Mura, Mahal couldn’t help but feel emotional and grateful.

“Na-touch sa akin si Mura. Hindi ko akalain na gano’n. Ngayon lang siya nakatanggap ng galing sa akin. Na-touch siya sa binigay kong pera,” Mahal said.

Mura, meanwhile, is thankful for Mahal’s effort to help him.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya dahil narating niya itong bahay ko na malayo. Tinulungan niya ako. Marami pa siyang matutulungan,” he said.
