Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate Alaiza Malinao announces pregnancy, flaunts baby bump in modern terno
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate Alaiza Malinao on Saturday announced that she is pregnant.
On Instagram, the beauty queen from Davao posted a photo of herself clad in a Jo Rubio white terno flaunting her baby bump.
"Ilang araw ko na iniisip pano ako susulat ng caption... pero, Yes! Hindi kayo namamalikmata, malinaw na malinaw na Inday am going to be a Mama!" she wrote in the caption of her post.
[I thought about what to write in the caption for days, but yes you are not mistaken, it's clear that I am going to be a Mama!]
"Andami ko pang pwedeng sabihin, pero hindi ko talaga alam kung san ako magsisimula at kung paano ko tatapusin. 2020 was C.R.A.Z.Y," she added.
[I have so many things that I can say but I don't know where to start and how to end it. 2020 was Crazy.]
Alaiza said she "cried, grieved, and celebrated" above all, felt thankful for the support and love she has received.
"'Yun ang isa sa pinakamalaking surprise ng taong 2020 para sa akin," she added. "Gusto ko lang naman patunayan na kaya ng isang Inday ipakita kung sino siya bilang isang Pilipina, pero kahit hindi pabor ang Universe sa plano ko, pinakita niya sa akin ang kahalagahan ko. "
[That is the biggest surprise for me in 2020. I wanted to prove that an Inday can show what she is as a Filipina but even though the Universe is not in favor of my plan, it showed me my worth.]
Alaiza said it's true that every candidate's life changes at the pageant night.
"Sa gabing yun, namatayan ako ng pangarap pero totoo din 'yung kasabihan na, 'We have to lose something precious in order to gain something priceless,'" she added.
[On that night, my dream died but the saying, "We have to lose something precious in order to gain something priceless" is also true.]
She thanked Jo Rubio for the terno he created and Jerick Sanchez for taking the photo.
In the comments section, her fellow beauty queens left congratulatory messages.
Alaiza is one of the Top 16 finalists during the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant.
