Sharifa Akeel to husband Esmael Mangudadatu: 'Fate wanted us to be together'

Sharifa Akeel took to Instagram to share a sweet dedication for her new husband, Maguindanao Rep. Esmael Mangudadatu.

On Instagram, the Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 queen shared photos from their wedding day, along with a heartfelt caption about their relationship.

"The road that led me to you was not easy. No matter how hard I tried to fight it, no matter how much others wanted to fight it, fate wanted us to be together," she said.

"When I realized and then accepted that, love and happiness filled my life, and I realized that YOU, who has been there for the past 6 years, was all that I was missing," she added. "I am excited to take on this new adventure, this new phase in my life, because I will be going on it with you, Husband."

Akeel's relationship with Mangudadatu has drawn controversy over the past few years, as they were accused of having an illicit affair by Mangudadatu's wife Mylene Maligaya.

The couple tied the knot on August 25 at the Al Nor Hotel and Convention Center in Cotabato City. —JCB, GMA News
