Sharon Cuneta gets emotional as daughter Frankie Pangilinan flies to New York for college

Sharon Cuneta can’t help but get emotional as her daughter Frankie Pangilinan flies to the US for college.

On Wednesday, the Megastar shared a photo of them hugging each other tightly, saying it’s a “very sad day” for their family.

“My Kakie, my Baba, is flying back to New York right about now [and] if my heart had already been breaking for days over her leaving and other matters, today it is in pieces,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Whenever a child of yours - especially one so loving [and] with such a pure and good heart leaves, she takes a big piece of your heart with her.”

Apart from Frankie and herself, Sharon said she also worried for younger daughter Miel as they had been together for more than 17 months because of the pandemic.

“My two younger girls have become only closer, stuck like glue, relying [and] depending on each other for anything [and] everything,” she said.

According to Sharon, Frankie taught Miel to be okay while she is away, even making the song “I Won’t Last A Day Without You” by Carpenters their song for each other.

As a mother, Sharon said her heart was “full” because of their “very special and unbreakable bond,” but she is also heartbroken because Miel doesn’t have her sister beside her.

Toward the end of her post, Sharon said their home felt incomplete and quiet.

“The silence in our home now is deafening and my heart is at once lost [and] bawling over missing her and feeling her absence. The sadness around here now is palpable,” she said.

Sharon also dedicated a sweet and touching message for Frankie, who she called Baba.

“I love you so very much, my Baba. Take care of yourself. And that large chunk of Mama’s heart which you took with you tonight. God bless you and keep you safe, my good girl.”
