Maguindanao Rep. Toto Mangudadatu to wed beauty queen Sharifa Akeel — NCMF

Second District Maguindanao Representative Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu and Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Sharifa Akeel are set to get married on August 25.

This was according to an announcement posted on the official National Commission on Muslim Fiiipinos, Bureau of External Relations Facebook page.

According to the invitation posted, the wedding is set to take place on August 25, 2021 at the Al Nor Hotel & Convention Center in Cotabato City.

The invitation says only limited guests will be allowed to attend the celebration as a safety protocol amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Guests were also instructed to wear face shields and masks, as well as to observe a formal dress code with a nude-colored motif.

Sharifa Akeel is a former teacher who grew up in a shanty in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat.

In 2018, the Muslim beauty queen competed in the Miss Asia Pacific International pageant and was crowned the winner. — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
