Pops Fernandez on reconciliation with Martin Nievera: 'It didn't happen overnight'

Pops Fernandez shared it took a long time before she and her former husband Martin Nievera became friends again.

In a vlog posted on Friday, celebrity cosmetic doctor Vicki Belo asked Pops how long before she and Martin became friends.

"Matagal-tagal," Pops said adding such reconciliation "doesn't happen overnight."

Asked how she managed to fix her friendship with her ex and the father of her children, Pops said, "nag-heal na ako. Ang weird naman na galit pa rin ako sa kanya. We were able to sit down and talk."

[I healed. It would be weird if I was still angry at him until now. We were able to sit down and talk.]

She added, "Right now, we can laugh. We can joke."

Pops and Martin got married in 1986 and was annulled in 2000 following years of ups and downs.

On June 28 last year, Pops and Martin were surprised by fans who tagged them in countless videos in celebration of what was supposed to be their 34th anniversary.

Martin said that the date will always be a special day and Pops shared that she and Martin will "always share this day with the ones who never forget."
