Gabbi Garcia reveals Khalill Ramos helped her get back with an ex

Unknown to many, Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos were really good friends before they dated.

In Gabbi and Khalil’s newly launched podcast “Figure It Out,” Gabbi revealed that Khalil even helped her get back with an ex!

The two shared that after meeting at Julia Barretto’s debut in 2015, they started texting each other almost on a daily basis.

Their romantic relationship, however, didn’t flourish at the time because both were busy with their careers and Gabbi was reconsidering patching things up with her ex.

“We started texting. We had a pretty deep connection,” Gabbi said. “I liked how we talked that night so when you asked for my number I gave it because I really wanted to talk to you. Right away, [I said],  ‘I’m kinda trying to patch things up with my ex,’” she said.

“I wanted to fix it. I was trying to fix things. He told me, ‘Yeah, no problem. Let’s just talk.’”

Gabbi said Khalil became her friend and they’d have deep and meaningful conversations about their past relationships, philosophies, and outlook in life.

“He helped me cope. He helped me live day by day,” Gabbi said. She added that what she learned from Khalil “somehow helped her cope and helped her renew her mindset.”

Which, in turn, “was a big factor why she and her ex got back together.”

According to Khalil, “naayos ko perception niya and I healed her wounds at that time tapos nakipagbalikan.”

As both became busy with their careers, they started talking less, but remained friends.

In 2017, however, they rekindled their relationship, albeit in a serendipitous way.

Khalil was starring in a film and Gabbi really wanted to watch it. However, tickets were already sold out. Her friend suggested she ask Khalil himself, but at that point, Gabbi thought twice about reaching out because they hadn’t spoken to each other in two years.

“I kinda was shy to text you but I did anyway,” Gabbi said. “And you replied right away, ‘oh yeah, I have tickets.’ And then, How are you na? It’s been so long,’” she added.

“And we never stopped texting, talking, interacting front hat day on ’til present.”

To this day, Khalil and Gabbi celebrate the anniversary of Feb. 22, the day she messaged him for those tickets.

This year too, the couple are celebrating their fourth anniversary.

Gabbi said she felt their relationship was “long overdue.”

“What’s nice about it is God gave us a glimpse of how we are together in 2015 and maybe it wasn’t the right timing and we had so much to figure out individually, we had so much to do ... so it was just right timing in 2017 and after that we flourished,” she said.

“We met at the right time where we were able to balance things and to share our personal life with someone so we could complement each other without compromising anything,” said Khalil.

“So far best four years ever. It’s really gonna work if it’s with the right person,” said Gabbi. – RC, GMA News
