Role in 'BetCin' served as therapy for Kylie Padilla after separation from Aljur Abrenica
Kylie Padilla said her role in upcoming online series "BetCin" has served as a therapy for her after separating from husband Aljur Abrenica.
In Nelson Canlas' report for "24 Oras," the actress spoke on television for the very first time about how she is doing in the aftermath of her split from Aljur.
Like their characters, Kylie and her co-star Andrea Torres are coming from painful breakups. Asked if they had any advice for each other, Kylie said she has taken refuge in the role of Cindy.
"Ako on set, di ko alam kung anong tawag doon, but most of the time, gusto ko in character ako," she said. "Ewan ko, baka I'm just trying to escape my real life right now. Charot!"
("On set, I don't how to call it, but most of the time, I want to be in character. I don't know, maybe I'm just trying to escape my real life right now.")
Andrea also said she is proud of Kylie and how she has matured.
"Parang hindi na niya kailangan ng advice, parang na-compartmentalize na niya," she said.
("It's like she doesn't need advice, she has already compartmentalized it.")
Kylie and her two sons moved to a new house following her separation from Aljur.
"I'm really good actually, sobrang saya ko kasi kasi talagang 'yung bagong bahay inayos ko talaga para feels like a home para sa mga bata. Maganda lang 'yung vibe sa loob ng bahay," she said.
("I'm so happy because I really fixed the new house so it would feel like a home for the kids. The vibe is good inside the house.")
