Here's how Marian Rivera helped Raffy Tima propose to Mariz Umali
Before Raffy Tima and Mariz Umali said their "I do's" almost nine years ago, Raffy proposed to Mariz in one of the sweetest ways possible with the help of Marian Rivera.
According to a "Tunay na Buhay" episode, Raffy and Mariz were together for two years already after six months of courtship before Raffy popped the question in 2012.
Back then, Mariz was a big fan of "Amaya," a popular epic fantaserye starring Marian Rivera. To make the proposal a grand surprise, Raffy decided to ask the cast and the director of the show for help.
"Sikat na sikat 'yung 'Amaya.' 'Yung director noon naging friend namin. Cinontact ko naman rin siya. Pumayag agad siya. Siya pa actually gumawa ng mini script," Raffy said.
['Amaya' was really famous. It's director became a friend of ours. I contacted her. She immediately said yes. She was actually the one who made the mini script.]
With everything in motion, Raffy pretended to have footage of the show's ending and played it for Mariz.
In the video, Marian could be seen in costume and in character with her co-stars behind her. After delivering her line, she suddenly pulled Raffy into the shot, and he said, "Mahal kita, Mariz (I love you, Mariz)."
Raffy then kneeled before Mariz who emotionally said yes. After knowing each other for 11 years, the two finally got married in December 2012.
