Rose Vega opens up about breakup with Ed from '90 Day Fiance'

If you were online at any point in 2020, you might have heard about Rose Vega and Ed from the American reality TV show "90 Day Fiance."

The couple was arguably the most popular one in the fourth season of the show, as people tuned in to witness the fall of their relationship up until their breakup.

In an interview on the newly launched "Share Ko Lang" podcast, Rose revealed that before she and Ed joined the reality show, their relationship was "great."

"We were always updated about each other, so it was great," she said in Filipino.

However, as many people know, it didn't stay that way.

"90 Day Fiance" flew Ed to the Philippines to meet Rose in person for the first time. He visited her family home in Caloocan City, and found that it was "really bad."

"I think the feeling is different when you're in a relationship online, because you see the good side of each other," Rose told podcast host Dr. Anna Tuazon.

"But I believe that when you personally spend time together in one place, that's when you see other sides of each other... Maybe we didn't click because we were only sweet online. When we spent time together for a month, we saw how it really is."

The two of them "not clicking" was the main reason why Rose ended the relationship, with the final straw being their different preferences on having kids.

Rose, who is already a mother to her son Prince, said she wanted more kids. Ed, however, had a vasectomy but didn't inform her.

"I really want my own family... if he wanted that, too, then why not?" Rose said.

Breaking up with Ed, Rose said she drew strength thinking about her son.

"I strengthened myself because I already knew what the situation was, so what more if I draw it out?" she said. "[I thought], 'If this is the person we will be with, what will happen to us?' So for me, I didn't want it anymore."

Following the breakup and the conclusion of her participation in the show, Rose went on to create her own vlog, which was well-received by fans.
