Jennica Garcia opens up on separation from Alwyn Uytingco
Jennica Garcia opened up on her separation from husband Alwyn Uytingco.
In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Monday, Jennica said their relationship started going on the rocks in March.
"It started [in] March—the failing of my marriage. That same month, my lola passed away because of COVID-19," she said in a mix of English and Filipino.
With both heartbreaks coming one after another, Jennica said she kept praying to stay strong.
She also revealed that she and her daughters, Athena Mori and Alessi, tested positive for the virus and then again after two weeks in April.
Jennica said she was adjusting to her new normal as a solo parent during those times.
"Now that I am a single mom, I have to think of a lot of things that I wasn't thinking about before. It's different when you have a partner in life," she said.
Jennica confirmed her split with Alwyn in May. They tied the knot in 2014.
Meanwhile, Alwyn has been holding out hope that they can still bring family back together. He also declared his love for Jennica and admitted missing their two children.
Jennica will star in the upcoming Kapuso series "Las Hermanas," her first full-length project since getting married and starting a family.
