Danica Sotto gave her all-out support for her husband Marc Pingris after he announced his retirement from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) after 16 years.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday, Danica shared a photo of herself in an emotional embrace with Marc just after one of his games.

"Every time Marc has a game, especially an important one, 'yung tipong mga do or die games, 'di mo makakausap 'yan!" She began recounting. "He’s quiet and not his usual kulit self. Naka-focus sa talaga sa game. Minsan ilang araw pa. I give him his space kasi nag-iisip talaga 'yan ng malalim."

[Every time Marc has a game, especially an important one, like a do-or-die, you won't be able to talk to him. He’s quiet and not his usual cheerful self. He's really focused on the game. Sometimes this lasts for days. I give him his space because he's really deep in thought.']

"But once the game is over, he will always look for me and the kids in the crowd so he can hug us and say he loves us," she added. "'Pag ganyan na siya sa akin, it means mission accomplished na siya. Nanalo na team nila, para sa family namin o kaya para sa bayan."

[When he begins to warm up again to me and his kids, it means that he's already accomplished his mission. His team won, for my family or for our nation.]

Danica then thanked everyone who has supported Marc in his basketball career and shared that she will be "eternally grateful" for all the love and support.

"I will definitely miss watching him play but I’m also excited for what lies ahead. I know God has even greater plans," she said.

Adding the hashtag "forever cheerleader," Danica said she "will be forever proud of what you’ve accomplished. I’ll always be by your side. Love you so much!"

On Tuesday, the "Pinoy Sakuragi" announced that he will be retiring at 39. Marc, who won a couple of championships and individual awards that has made him a PBA legend, thanked everyone who supported and believed in him. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
