LJ Reyes thanks partner Paolo Contis for his ‘sacrifices’ amid pandemic

LJ Reyes has expressed her gratitude to her partner Paolo Contis for making sacrifices for her and their family amid the pandemic.

“I have so much gratitude for Pao. He has sacrificed so much. I realized that he would shield us from anything,” the actress said in Filipino during a press conference on Friday.

LJ said Paolo always volunteered to do errands outside, such as buying groceries, to shield her and their kids from getting exposed to the coronavirus disease.

“Slowly bumabalik to work. Lagi niya sinasabi, ‘you can stay at home. You have a choice.’ And importante sa ’tin ’yun na meron kaming choice. Hindi ka parang walang choice, kailangan ko i-risk pero iisipin mo din mga bata. Isasabay mo para maka-provide ka rin,” she said.

[He’s slowly been going back to work. He always tells me, “you can stay at home. You have a choice.” And it’s important for us to have that choice. You don’t feel like you don’t have a choice, that you have to take a risk and also worry about the kids. You can do both to provide as well.]

“Nawala din sa ’kin before. Ngayon sobrang na-appreciate ko na mayroon akong katuwang ... talagang shinield niya kami para walang magkasakit,” she said.

[I lost that before. Now I really appreciate having a partner … he’s really our shield so we wouldn’t get sick.]

LJ and Paolo have a daughter together named Summer. She also has an older son, Aki, with actor Paulo Avelino. – RC, GMA News
