Catriona Gray arrives in Australia, stays in quarantine before reuniting with family
Catriona Gray has arrived in Australia and will soon reunite with her family after almost two years.
Sharing a photo of herself at a hotel room on Thursday, the Miss Universe 2018 said she had “13 days to go for mandatory quarantine.”
“I’ve been calling my parents every day, we’re all so excited. I can’t remember a time that I felt so much anticipation in the last year,” she wrote.
On Tuesday, Catriona said she was off to see her family, posting a photo of a view from a plane window.
She said the comments she received made her think of overseas Filipino workers who were also away from their loved ones.
The beauty queen said she cancelled and postponed some work engagements so she could see her family.
“I feel like one of the biggest realizations I’ve had in this season is that relationships and family are the most important things so it was an easy sacrifice to make,” she wrote.
Catriona said she shared her story to give hope to those who couldn’t be with their families yet during this time.
“For many of us, it’s just not possible due to work, travel and border restrictions and other impassable challenges,” she said.
“I pray that it’d give some kind of hope to all of you who are away from your family. That your families will soon be reunited, just as mine soon will.”
She also asked everyone to “keep holding on to each other, even though it may be from afar.”
