Catriona Gray gets emotional as she flies to Australia to see her parents
Catriona Gray got emotional as she flew to Australia to reunite with her parents.
Posting a photo of the view from a plane window on Instagram, the Miss Universe 2018 revealed the obstacles she went through to make the reunion happen.
"After countless rescheduled flights, two flight cancelations, swab tests, stress, applications and waiting...I'm finally on my way to see my parents for the first time in one and a half years," Catriona wrote followed by a sad teary emoji.
According to the Filipina beauty queen, when she became Miss Universe, she made a promise to herself to see her father every quarter.
But due to the pandemic, Catriona said they have "spent the majority of time apart."
"I know I'm not alone, as so many families face the same reality in the time of CoVid," she added.
Catriona shared how, "it's always been a fear of mine, having an older father, of not having enough time with him."
"I don't want to one day, be full of regret for not having given time to one of the most important people in my life," she added. "I'm sooo emotional writing this, my gahd."
"Wala lang, just wanted to share. I'm sending my whole heart to families who are in the same position as mine. Praying that you'll be together soon," she ended her note.
After turning over her crown to South African beauty queen Zozibini Tunzi in December 2019 in Atlanta, Catriona was able to spend time with her family in Australia. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
