Mikael Daez remembers late father, posts family photos in Boracay taken in 1996 vs in 2021

Mikael Daez took a trip down memory lane and shared an old photo from a 1996 family trip to Boracay with their dad.

"We lose one but we win many more," he began. "It’s been 17 years since my dad, the rock of our family, passed but we had a lioness for a mother and a resilient bunch of kids striving to continue through life," Mikael wrote in the caption of his post.

"It’s been a collective effort growing from that loss," he added.

"Through so many intertwining ups and downs in our family, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together," he added, saying they've all grown — emotionally, in numbers, "in love for one another."

"It doesn’t get much better than that," he wrote.

The post also contained a photo from their family trip to the island earlier this year.

The Kapuso actor said he just wanted to share his thoughts as he take this Sunday "to reflect on what has gotten us to this point."

"At the end of the day, I’m so thankful for every experience with my family. #IDontSayThisEverydayBut I love all of you," he wrote.

"PS. These two photos were taken in Boracay (1996 vs 2021). The first— how it started. The second— how it’s going," he added.

Mikael also encouraged his family to "thank your family today with a candid photo of them and share it with everyone," and use the hashtag "#IDontSayThisEverydayBut." — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
