Why Vico's brother LA Mumar remains unvaccinated vs. COVID-19
Prominent people who receive the COVID-19 jab usually get criticized for jumping the queue on the vaccines.
It appears, however, that some of them also get questioned if they do not take advantage of their popularity or connections.
Case in point: LA Mumar, the brother of Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto.
"I rarely post anything political but to all of you asking/wondering why my wife and I have not been vaccinated yet since my brother is the mayor," he said on his Instagram Stories, a screenshot of which was posted on Twitter.
"My mom didn't skip the line, Vico didn't skip the line. Why would I?"
The Ateneo women's basketball coach said that while some would say it's ok to do so because it's a "life and death" situation, he believes that people should still "choose what is right."
"Shouldn't we hold on to our values more when things are difficult? What will I tell my children? It's ok to do something illegal because it's convenient?"
"My three boys are watching me, people around are watching and most importantly, God is too," he added.
He also said that while he is not a mayor like his brother, he believes that everyone should do their part for the sake of the country.
LA is Coney Reyes' firstborn with ex-husband and late PBA player Larry Mumar. Vico, meanwhile, is the actress' third and youngest child.
