Derek Ramsay shares special moment with son Austin: ‘He called me Dad!’
It looks like Derek Ramsay is celebrating milestone after milestone.
On Thursday, the actor shared a video of an emotional and special moment between him and his son Austin.
“He called me Dad!!” he wrote on the caption.
In the video, which was taken from afar, Derek and his son could be seen having a serious conversation.
After hugging each other, Derek, who had his back to the video, looked like he broke into tears.
“Thank you Lord for showering me with your love and blessings!” he said on the caption, thanking a friend who took the video.
“I will always remember this special day. I can truly say my life is perfect now. Love you [Austin],” he added, tagging his son’s account.
Many fans, celebrities, and friends sent their congratulatory messages, including Coleen Garcia, Neri Naig, Melissa Ricks, and Paolo Paraiso, who commented, “best feeling in the world.”
His post came two days after he announced his engagement to actress Ellen Adarna.
In October 2019, Derek said in an Instagram post that his relationship with his son was not perfect.
“We may have our misunderstandings but always remember I love you and want what’s best for you,” he said.
Austin is Derek’s son with former wife Mary Christine Jolly.
According to a GMA Network Entertainment report, the Kapuso hunk revealed that he was married and he had a son only in 2014.
“Since then, I wanted to know my son first and keep my relationship with him, private,” Derek said at the time.
“Austin was just an 8-year-old boy then and he would not be able to comprehend the possible media curiosity about him, especially since he was then new to the country and about to pursue his education here,” he said.
