Kakai Bautista fires back: Mario Maurer camp’s claims without factual, legal basis

Kakai Bautista has fired back at the camp of Mario Maurer over its allegations against the actress.

A report by PEP.ph on Tuesday said it obtained a copy of her official statement, where she answered the claims made by the Thai actor’s “authorized attorney” Koraphot Jirachocksubsin.

According to her statement, the Thais’ claim that she “improperly exploited” and made “false statements” about Maurer is “without any factual and legal basis.”

It said the claims “reek of libel” because Bautista had shared in past interviews only information that were based on truth.

“(These are) simple and truthful recollection of her personal experience in working with an international public figure such as Mr. Mario Maurer, whom she has so cherished and has held with high regard and respect,” said the statement.

Bautista’s lawyer Jude Marfil said the actress had every right to “publicly talk about her experiences” with Maurer because she did not sign a non-disclosure agreement with the actor’s team.

The report said she had altogether decided to cut whatever relationship she had with Maurer “through all means and channels possible.”

Bautista’s camp also questioned the cease and demand letter sent to her and urged Maurer’s alleged lawyer to prove his identity.

It said there could be possible violations on the part of the actor’s counsel because only Filipino lawyers are allowed to practice law in the Philippines.

In 2019, Bautista revealed that she almost quit showbiz after she was allegedly forbidden to communicate with Maurer and was accused of just using him.
