Aicelle Santos shares how her faith and family keep her strong amid the pandemic

Aicelle Santos shared how her faith and family empower her to go through each day despite uncertainties amid the pandemic.

In an interview with "Share Ko Lang" resident psychologist Dr. Anna Tuazon, the Rock and Soul Diva said that she "strengthened" her faith the past year to keep her afloat.

According to her, she had to remind herself of the "miracles" that happened to her in the past to realize that "[God] is in control" and she shouldn't worry.

Even with her strong faith, she admitted that she still has her bad days especially when she misses her family. She soldiers on, however, because not seeing her loved ones also means protecting them from possible exposure to COVID-19.

While she fights through her own battles, Aicelle's husband Mark Zambrano makes sure to stay by her side as they complement each other in a "give and take" manner.

According to the singer, Mark is the "joy giver" while she is the more serious one so she finds their balance good especially now that they have a baby together.

With the country once again under lockdown, Aicelle said it is important to have someone to lean on in trying times.

"May mahingahan ka lang, may makausap ka lang sa phone about it or someone hugs you, you’re okay. Kailangan mo lang ilabas," she said.

("Having someone to lean on, to talk to on the phone about it or someone hugs you, you're okay. You just have to let it out.")

"Kailangan natin alagaan 'yung sanity natin so kapag meron kang nararamdaman, 'wag mo itago," she added.

("We need to protect our sanity so when you feel something, don't hide it.")

With this thinking, Aicelle checks up on her friends and family who have been distant from her through text.

She also sends them photos of her newborn Zandrine because she believes that baby photos can really make someone's day better.

With her and the country still being uncertain of the future, Aicelle continues to keep her hopes up and trusts in whatever the following days may hold.

"Stay positive sa mindset and trust na may tumutulong sa atin [there's someone helping us]. God's helping hand is there available, just waiting for us to reach out."
