Tom Rodriguez on proposing to Carla Abellana: 'We're ready and we're at that stage'
Is Tom Rodriguez ready to propose to his partner Carla Abellana?
In an interview with online YouTube channel GTalk TV Show, the Kapuso actor was put in hot seat, when he was asked when he plans to pop the question to Carla.
"We never know. Like I said, when we’re ready," Tom said.
"You never know, if it’s already happened or not," he continued teasing.
Tom said all he can say for now is that "we’re ready, we’re at that stage, we’ve talked about it a lot."
"It’s not something that you rehearse. Sometimes life just gets in the way so let’s see. You never know," he added.
Tom also said that he can say that "she is definitely the one, so let’s see."
Prior to the question, Tom said he wanted to propose in a "very intimate" setting with Carla's family in attendance.
"I would love to share it with people we love. I think that is the most meaningful, instead of like trying to go for the flare," he said.
At the beginning of the interview, Tom was asked when Carla last made him cry.
"It was just October 18. It’s like a look, look that she gave me that made my heart swell," he said. "It’s just seeing her with our dogs and with her family. It just felt so overwhelming and I couldn't even understand why it was happening since we’ve been together for over 6 years."
"But I just looked at her and there was a light, ray, just right at her framing her with her just interacting with her family and her dogs filled with my heart with so much love for her," he added.
Carla and Tom have been together for more than 6 years.
In an interview with Unang Hirit last August, Tom was asked if he and Carla are willing to get married amid the COVID-19 situation.
"Ako okay lang, kaso nung tinanong ko siya, definitely no," he said.
UH host Lyn told him that every woman has their dream wedding scenario, and Tom replied, "Yeah, exactly."
"Ako, my only dream is to be the one next to her, and that's my only requirement. Pero syempre, I want it to be special for her," he added.
