‘Love Alarm’ lead Kim So Hyun’s advice to those confused between two people: ‘Be honest’

Having to deal with two men in the “Love Alarm” series, lead star Kim So Hyun encourages its viewers to stay true to themselves.

In an online interview with GMA News Online, the actress playing Kim Jojo said getting involved with two people is the “most difficult” so she shared an advice.

“There’s nothing you can do about the situation. The best you can do is be honest and true to your feelings so that the least people would get hurt,” she said.

In the show, she activates a shield that stops the application from showing her feelings so she, herself, ends up confused between Lee Hye Hyeong and Hwang Sun Oh.

“Jojo is a character who used to be very defensive in a way. She was weary about her feelings being exposed which led her to use the shield function,” she said.

“In the second season, the frustration because of having used the shield leads to Jojo taking different actions which leads to her personal growth and development,” she added.

If the shield were real, Kim So-hyun said she will only activate it when needed.

“Sometimes I’m very good at hiding my feelings but sometimes, I’m very bad at it especially when I’m having a hard time,” she said.

“I try to hide it so that people would not worry about it so in those moments, I feel like I would like the shield.”

When asked if they would download the Love Alarm application in real life, Kim So-hyun and Song Kang as Hwang Sun-oh said they wouldn’t.

“My choices ended up hurting Sun Oh and Hye Yeong without my attention so that was difficult. Even if it were real, I would prefer to express my feelings with my own words rather than using the app,” Kim So Hyun said.

“While the app is convenient, delivering your feelings in your own words and confessing your feelings by your own is more true,” Song Kang added.

“Love Alarm” is a romance drama set in an alternate world wherein an application alerts people if someone within a 10-meter radius likes them. It is set to premiere on Netflix on March 12.
