Patrick J. Adams slams royal family, defends ‘Suits’ co-star: Meghan Markle ‘is way out of your league’

Patrick J. Adams has slammed the “archaic, toxic” royal family for “amplifying” the bullying allegations made against his “Suits” co-star Meghan Markle.

“It’s obscene that the royal family, [whose] newest member is currently growing inside of her, is promoting and amplifying accusations of ‘bullying’ against a woman who herself was basically forced to flee the UK in order to protect her family and her own mental health,” the Canadian actor said in a series of tweets on Friday.

“This newest chapter and it’s timing is just another stunning example of the shamelessness of an institution that has outlived its relevance, is way overdrawn on credibility and apparently bankrupt of decency,” he said.

“Find someone else to admonish, berate and torment. My friend Meghan is way out of your league.”

Patrick also slammed the UK media, saying it “sickened” him to read all the “racist, slanderous, clickbaiting vitriol” it spewed at Meghan.

The actor’s tweets came after a British newspaper published a report saying former staffers had claimed that they were bullied by the Duchess of Sussex at Kensington Palace in 2018.

Buckingham Palace then released a statement saying it would launch an investigation on the bullying claims.

The accusations surfaced days before the release of Prince Harry and Meghan’s exclusive interview with American TV host Oprah Winfrey, where they would talk about their decision to leave the royal family.

Patrick, who played Meghan’s love interest on the legal drama series “Suits,” described the actress as a “powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she holds dear.”

He said like the rest of the world, he watched as Meghan married Prince Harry, “became a household name across the entire globe” and tried to find her place “in a family dynamic that can at best be described as complicated and at worst, seemingly archaic and toxic.”

“Suits” creator Aaron Korsh also came to Meghan’s defense. “Meghan Markle is not a monster. She’s a strong woman with a kind heart who’s trying to make her way in an unimaginable situation.”

Another “Suits” cast member, Abigail Spencer, also expressed her love and support for her former costar in a lengthy Instagram post.

Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson, Harry, married Meghan at Windsor Castle in 2018.

Over the years, Meghan and her marriage to the prince have received racist and unfair media coverage.

Last year, the couple announced that they would be stepping back from their royal duties.
